My Bio
I've been a software developer for nearly 30 years; having worked on many platforms from micro-chips to main frames; in several languages like Assembly, FORTRAN, C, and Java; in lots of OS/environments like Altair, Data General, PRIME, UNIX, and Windows; produced low-level hardware drivers and high-level GUIs and analyzers; for both real-time and desktop applications; in a variety of disciplines like security, financial, newspaper publication, medical research, aerial photogrammetry, land surveying and mapping, CAD/CAM/CAE, manufacturing, and engineering; and I've been self employed, and worked for small companies and large companies. I am presently a senior Engineer/Scientist Programmer/Analyst for Boeing; supporting software used by design engineers on a number of aircraft programs.
I'm a project leader, programmer, technical writer, trainer, author, and speaker. And I have tasted but otherwise successfully declined management positions.
My wife and I have 9 children (and only 10 grandkids so far!). I'm a runner, and am always in some state of training for another marathon.
I have a lot of additional interests, but alas; they'll have to wait until I either retire or win the lottery.
