Possible Future Hardware Projects

If it weren’t for the annoying little necessities of life like working for a living, and sleeping, I could accomplish so much more of what I’d really like to do.  But alas, unless I win the lottery or something I am constrained to plod along at a mere-mortal pace.  (They say, “You can’t win if you don’t play.”, so I guess the lottery’s out of the question.  Actually of all the people I know who DO play, I don’t know of ANYONE who has even broken even, so I think it would be more accurate to say, “You can’t lose if you don’t play!”)  Anyway, here’s a few more projects I’ve imagined that I may or may not ever get around to:

Motor Walker

Instead of the fusion of a bicycle and a horse (as in the Bike Walker), how about the fusion of a motor cycle and a dog?  The engine would provide much greater power and speed, and a computer and motorized legs would provide the ability to accelerate/decelerate, turn, and alter the gait at different speeds.  There’s an image right out of a science fiction movie!

Cart Walker

A go-cart-sized motorized vehicle (kind of like the Car Walker) with 6 legs, navigated with a joystick, controlled by a computer, actuated by motorized legs, and the ability to scan the vicinity with a laser and a camera to place the pods wherever necessary to safely step on, over, or around any obstacle in its path.

Juggler

A pseudo-humanoid robot (like the Juggle Boy) with eyes and hands that can see and catch balls tossed to it, and juggle them (or toss them back to you if you toss him too many).  He could even be programmed with a number of different juggling techniques – the juggling profession has identified and programmed many of them.

Sky Writing

A laptop-assisted swarm of RC airplanes that do lower-altitude (than traditional Sky Writers) aerobatics; spelling out and drawing out any number of messages/logos/etc.
